The documentary raised a lot of questions to me.
The documentary raised a lot of questions to me.
what is the right way of observing a painting?
can we ever understand a painting the same way they used to in its time period? or will we forever have our perception filtered by the sights of photographs and its uses/appearances in modern contexts?
How would our view of women and nudity be different if the male's gaze wasn't such an inspiration in art in history?
can a modern way of seeing a painting be more impactful and valuable than its original sight?
Or is the raw, intended way of looking at a painting in the right context always the most proper way of seeing it?
